Alfred A. Knopf
Goodreads summary: Kate, Michael, and Emma have been in one orphanage after another for the last ten years, passed along like lost baggage.

Yet these unwanted children are more remarkable than they could possibly imagine. Ripped from their parents as babies, they are being protected from a horrible evil of devastating power, an evil they know nothing about.

Until now.

Before long, Kate, Michael, and Emma are on a journey to dangerous and secret corners of the world...a journey of allies and enemies, of magic and mayhem. And—if an ancient prophesy is correct—what they do can change history, and it is up to them to set things right.

This book is a super fun read and full of adventure. Many people are comparing it to Harry Potter and the Chronicles of Narnia books. Regardless, the book is awesome and I already have a waiting list here in the library just by word of mouth amongst the kids! (I've been keeping quiet until I get more copies!)

The story is fast-paced and wonderfully detailed. You HAVE to buy this book for fantasy lovers in elementary and middle school but I imagine it will have fans among high school readers and beyond!

Appropriate for ages 8 and up!
