Watcher in the Woods
Dreamhouse Kings Book 2
by Robert Liparulo
In this stunning adventure series from acclaimed author Robert Liparulo, a house that is more than meets the eye will change the lives of the King family forever.

When we last left the King family in the first book House of Dark Shadows, the family is devastated when, in the middle of the night, a terrifying stranger kidnaps their mother and steals away into one of the many passages that leads to other worlds.

In this next book, Watcher in the Woods, the saga continues as the King Family begins their search, quickly realizing that they must learn more about the worlds in order to find their mother.

But they also must pretend that all is well at home. When a dark and menacing stranger appears and tries to force them to sell the house, their desperation reaches new heights. Can they keep the charade in place in order to solve the mystery of who kidnapped their mom?

I was blown a way by the first book which kept me on the edge of my seat. Book 2, Watcher in the Woods did not disappoint! With new dilemmas and obstacles in their way, the King family must persevere and work together in order to maintain the quest to find their mother.

The family is still finding out new and weird things about their house and the surrounding property. Keeping up appearances isn't as easy as it seems, especially when the boys keep getting hurt while scouting the other worlds. It seems that every world they visit is in the middle of some war or conflict!

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery and adventure! Teens, tweens, adults and anyone in between will find something to like about this exciting, well written series. No library should be without it!

Keep an eye out for my review for the next book in the series book 3: Gatekeepers!

I own and have read both 1 and 2, believe me ... they are SO GOOD!! I didn't expect to enjoy them as much as I did, and now cannot WAIT to get ahold of the next 3 in the series.

As an added bonus the covers looks awesome on the ol' book case lol

Oh yeah! I've read these with my kids (and enjoyed them at least as much as they did). Very good books, great story, wonderful writing. I like that the family learns how much they need each other--and how much they love each other. It's very touching, but set in a creepy, scary, adventurous world (or worlds, as the different times in history are called). We've read through book four (Timescape) and can say they just keep getting better. Can't wait for the next one (December, I think).
