Freaks and Revelations
by Davida Wilis Hurwin

This raw, moving novel follows two teenagers-one, a Mohawk-wearing 17-year-old violent misfit; the other, a gay 13-year-old cast out by his family, hustling on the streets and trying to survive. Acclaimed author Davida Wills Hurwin creates a riveting narrative told in alternating perspectives of their lives before and after the violent hate crime that changed both their futures. This tragic but ultimately inspirational journey of two polarized teens, their violent first meeting, and their peaceful reunion years later is an unforgettable story of survival and forgiveness. This story is inspired by the real lives of Matthew Boger and Timothy Zaal, who have shared their story on The Oprah Winfrey Show and NPR

Release date August 11, 2009

Someone is killing boys in a small town. The murder weapon is a truck, and the only protection is a curfew enacted to keep kids off the streets. But it's summer—and that alone is worth the risk of staying out late for James, Willie, and Reggie.
Willie, who lost his arm in the first hit-and-run attack, finds it hard to keep up with his two best friends as they leave childhood behind. All of them are changing, hounded by their parents, hunted by the killer, and haunted by the "monster," a dead thing that guards the dangerous gateway between youth and manhood. But that's not all: shadowing the boys everywhere is Mel Herman, the mysterious and brilliant bully whose dark secrets may hold the key to their survival. As the summer burns away, these forces collide, and it will take compassion, brains, and guts for the boys to overcome their demons—and not become monsters themselves.

You've got a lot of good books!
I want to read Meridian and Undead Much?
The Everafter sounds really good too! Must add to read list!
Yeay!! for such great books. Meridian and Undead Much are at the top of my wish list. Blue Moon was good but plagued with being the middle filler book syndrome (but I still liked it) and The Forest of Hands and Teeth is well liked by most.
Great books you got this week. There are so many of them. The Forest of Hands Teeth is quite a good book. Enjoy.
Looks like you have a bunch of good books to read!
I've read a few posts on Meridian, so I'm already excited to read that when it's available.
From your list, I'm hooked by these books the most: Freaks and Revelations, the Everafter, One of the Survivors, and The Monster Variations. Everafter and One of the Survivors are at the top of the list.
Excited to hear more about them! =)
Dang girl! I also got Dancing with Ana this week. I have one or two of those sitting around to be read. I think I managed to pick up an e-book format of the ARC of Everafter. God, I'm so behind in reading. :) Enjoy your books!
